Churston Traditional Farm Shop

Make a day of it

The coast path is on the doorstep.

Churston sits in one of the loveliest corners of Torbay — quiet coves, old woodland, a steam railway and Agatha Christie’s Greenway are all within minutes of the farm shop. Fill a basket, then go exploring.

The Churston walk

Through the woods to Churston Cove

The classic here: a short woodland walk from the shop down to a quiet shingle cove, with the option of carrying on along the coast path into Brixham. Best done with a pasty in hand.

  1. Start at the farm shop

Park up (it's free), grab a coffee from Caroline's Kitchen and pick up a pasty or a picnic from the deli counter for the walk.

  2. Into Churston woods

Cross into the old woodland of The Grove, where the paths wind downhill through the trees towards the sea.

  3. Down to Churston Cove

The woods open out onto a quiet shingle cove with clear, sheltered water — one of the bay's best-kept secrets.

  4. Carry on, or head back

Pick up the South West Coast Path round to Fishcombe Cove and into Brixham harbour, or wander back up through the trees to the shop.

Before you set off

  • Pick up a pasty, a coffee and something for the beach from the farm shop
  • Proper footwear — the woodland paths are uneven and can be muddy after rain
  • Dogs love this one — bring the lead for the coves
  • Free parking at the shop while you stock up
